Luckily, Park City and its surrounding communities boast some impressive public facilities designed for everything from serious lap swimming to thrilling water play.
Whether you’re looking to maintain your fitness routine, entertain the kids for hours, or enjoy a relaxing float, Park City’s public pools offer a refreshing option for everyone.
Park City Municipal Athletic & Recreation Center (PC MARC)

Often referred to simply as “the MARC,” this state-of-the-art facility is the hub for recreation in Park City. It’s not just a gym; it’s an aquatic wonderland, especially in the summer.
- Leisure Pool: This is a family favorite! The Leisure Pool ranges from 1 to 6 feet deep and features an exciting water slide, interactive water play features, and a relaxing lazy river. It’s perfect for splashing around with kids or simply floating your cares away.
- Lap Pool: For those looking to get in some serious exercise, the MARC also has a 25-yard lap pool. Note: As of spring 2025, the lap pool may be undergoing construction for upgrades, so it’s always a good idea to check their website or call ahead for the most current information and hours.
- Amenities: Beyond the pools, the MARC offers a full fitness center, indoor track, tennis and pickleball courts, and even childcare services, making it easy for adults to work out while kids play.

While connected to the Park City School District, the Park City Aquatic Center is also open to the public and offers a dedicated swimming facility, often catering more to serious swimmers and organized programs.

This center provides an excellent alternative for lap swimmers if the MARC’s lap pool has limited availability or if you’re looking for a more focused swimming experience.

Wasatch Aquatic Center (Heber City)
Just a short, scenic drive from Park City into Heber Valley, the Wasatch Aquatic Center offers another fantastic public pool option, especially appealing for families with its diverse water features.
- Competition Lap Pool: For serious swimmers, there’s a 25-yard by 25-meter competition pool.
- Multi-Use Recreation Pool: This is where the fun really happens for families! It includes three additional lap lanes, a zero-entry area perfect for toddlers, and engaging toddler play features.
- Outdoor Splash Pad: In the warmer months, an outdoor splash pad adds another layer of fun, allowing kids to cool off and play in a vibrant, safe environment.
- Therapy Pool: They even have a jet propulsion therapy pool for recovery or special needs, showcasing their commitment to serving diverse community needs.
