Summertime in Park City

In the winter, Park City is a skiing mecca. During the summer months, it turns into nirvana for different types of outdoor enthusiasts.

On Solid Ground

If you prefer to stay on terra firma, there are plenty of land-based activities to get the adrenalin pumping! There’s nothing like the feeling of freedom on a mountain bike, from the exertion of the ride up to the exhilaration of the ride back down! With over 400 miles of public trails in the Park City mountains, you’re sure to find your perfect route.

Enjoy a round of golf, with easy access to over 15 courses in the general area. Perhaps you’d like the bragging rights to a William Neff or Rees Jones course or maybe the local Park City golf club better suits your taste.

Up in the Air

For those who like to soar through the clouds, try a hot air balloon ride! You’ll see out over the Kamas Valley as you ascend thousands of feet up, up and away, all the way over the Wasatch Mountains.

For a different type of view, take a zipline tour over Park City. You’ll fly at 40 mph and 161 feet over Olympic Park. Imagine the sights to take in from that altitude!

Water Lovers Rejoice!

The water-farers amongst us will gravitate towards a day fly-fishing on the Provo River or the Echo and Rockport reservoirs. And if that’s not quite adventurous enough for you, try your luck at river rafting, tubing, SUP, kayaking or jet skiing.

Families with children will appreciate the myriad activities available for the younger set. Choose from water parks to museums, a railroad ride to strolling through an EcoCenter.

Music is Good for the Soul

If easy-summertime living equals music to you, Park City is the right place! The Deer Valley Concert Series is featuring such artists as Jason Mraz, Gavin DeGraw, Phillip Phillips, Lukas Nelson & Promise of the Real, Gov’t Mule and The Decemberists, all in a beautiful amphitheater setting.

Also check out up and coming musicians at both the Deer Valley Music Festival and the Grand Valley Bank Community Concert Series.

What’s Good to Eat?

Many say if there’s only one summertime event in which to participate, it’s Savor the Summit, this year held on June 22. This rip-roaring event is billed as Park City’s biggest outdoor dinner party and offers those lucky diners a uniquely eclectic celebration of food, drink and live music all while seated in the middle of Main Street. Reservations are required.

If a one-night gastronomic event is not enough for the foodies and connoisseurs, choose from a number of tastings and tours. With a Park City food tour, you’ll receive a walking, talking, historical, and culinary experience all rolled up into one, providing you with hours of entertainment, as well as delicious noshes.

Wine drinkers will definitely want to check out tours offered by several different outfits in downtown Park City. Some are more geared towards locals than visitors and some offer beer and spirit tastings, as well.

Enjoy Your Summer Adventure in Park City!

While Park City has well earned its reputation as a world-class ski destination, it’s summertime offerings also put it squarely on the map and in the heart of its many loyal visitors and guests.
