The Travel Channel rates Park City as one of the top 15 most family-friendly ski resort destinations in the US. Pretty impressive! With that in mind, we’ve compiled a list of on and off-the slopes activities that are not just kid-approved, but kid-requested, too!

Since Park City is a physically active destination, many of our kid-friendly activities center around physical activity and its enjoyment.

Ski Lessons
Park City offers a wide range of personalized ski and snowboard lessons/instruction for kids as young as 3. Nurture your kids love for the outdoors and nature combined with the exhilaration of skiing and snowboarding.

Park City Ice Arena
What’s better on a cold afternoon that an ice skating rink and hot chocolate?! The Park City Ice Arena offers public skate time each week, some with instruction. Make new family memories on the ice, amidst the laughter and spills. Helmet and skate rentals available.

South Summit Aquatic & Fitness Center
The South Summit Aquatic & Fitness Center is so much more than just a community pool! This activity center features a wide variety of programs and activities for kids all year long. Choose from sports camps and lessons to youth hikes to dive-in movies at the pool! They’ve got something for every kid in your family, as well as most of the adults!

Swaner EcoCenter
Though it’s only open for a total of 4 hours each weekend, the Swaner EcoCenter has a climbing wall for your kids to enjoy from 1-3 pm every Saturday and Sunday. In addition, they feature a regular calendar of events where you can find more fun activities, like hiking and crafting.

And for those parents and kids looking for something just a bit more laid back, here are some great options for you:

Heber Valley Railroad
Toot, toot! All Aboard!! Enjoy gorgeous scenery of the Wasatch Mountains and Provo Canyon, from a 100-year old steam locomotive. In addition to the beautiful scenic tours, the Heber Valley Railroad also offers themed train rides, such as Rock’n’Roll Train, Wizards Train, Star Wars Train and the North Pole Express. The kids will be clamoring to ride the train!

Kimball Art Center
The perfect place for your budding artiste! Classes are offered in a wide variety of art disciplines, such as painting, drawing, ceramics & pottery, wearable art, mixed media and glass. Classes are broken down by age group and discipline and are offered frequently throughout the week.

The Park City Library
The Park City Library welcomes kids of all ages every day to participate in their many classes, groups and activities. A small sampling of these include Storytime, Music & Movement, Minecraft Club to help kids learn problem-solving and social skills, the LEGO club to build your child’s creativity and even a Ukelele class!
