4 Ways to Spend Spring Break in Park City

Traditionally, March and April are stellar months to visit Park City, Utah. The sunshine shimmers off the snowbanks and ski slopes. The skies are a gorgeous bright blue. And although the temperatures are milder— fear not— there’s still some seriously awesome springtime skiing to be had.

Here are four of our favorite ways to enjoy an unforgettable 2021 spring break in Park City.

  1. Springtime snowboardingSki The Slopes

We’ll start with the most obvious. Park City’s claim to fame is our premier skiing and snowboarding— and spring is a great time to take full advantage of the epic slopes at Park City Mountain and Deer Valley Resort. The temps are warmer and the snow is soft and plush. Pro tip: don’t forget to slather on the sunscreen!

Take a quick look inside this Sunspot Condo. This gorgeous home is within walking distance of historic downtown, and minutes away from the Deer Valley slopes. Plus, you’ll have a private terrace and hot tub to soak up the spring sunshine in style.

  1. Banquet in a Bubble

This spring, Culinary Crafts— a 16-time Best of Utah Caterer winner— is hosting rustic, family-style meals on a rooftop terrace overlooking the mountains and Main Street.

How do they pull this off when the weather is still on the chilly side? By serving your meal inside a private bubble tent, of course. Don’t miss out on this one-of-a-kind dining experience! Click here to make a reservation.

  1. Wander Off the Slopes

Snowshoe in Park CityThere’s so much more adventure to be had around Park City that takes place off the ski slopes! And springtime is the perfect time to take full advantage of all that the city has to offer.

Take a brisk hike on one of the dryer, sunnier trails. Try your hand— er, your feet— at snowshoeing. Gather your gear together and go fly-fishing— and maybe catch that evening’s dinner! Whatever off-slope adventure you choose, it’s sure to create lasting memories and deepen your love for Park City.

  1. Go to Wine School

What better way to apres-ski like a pro than to take a few wine classes while you’re in town? Fox School of Wine offers dozens of opportunities to learn all about vino. Wine School

Their Recess at the Rock events take you on a tasting tour of Main Street while you explore different vintages. There’s even a class about the best wines to bring when you go camping! Contact the Fox School to grab your spot on one of these fun and festive spring tours.

Where to Grab a Bite in Park City

It’s January— the month of fresh starts and new beginnings. After the whirlwind that was 2020, we thought it would be nice to take a moment and update you on some of our Park City local favorite restaurants. A lot has changed over the past year— with some new places opening and some old stand-bys closing their doors.

Whether you’re a Park City newbie or you visit us every year, here’s a list of our favorite places to grab a bite to eat in 2021.

Best Pizza in Park City:  Fuego’s Bistro & Pizzeria

2001 Sidewinder Drive— 435. 645. TOGO

For pizza and family-style Italian, you can’t beat Fuego’s. They’ve been around since 2006, and they continue to come up with new menu items that are sure to delight even the pickiest of pallets.

Their wood-fired pizzas range from the classic to the outrageous. Try their house specialty Margherita— with juicy San Marzano tomatoes, gooey mozzarella, and fresh basil. Since January is National Carnivore Month, you’ll want to give their Meat Lover’s Pie a try— complete with pepperoni, sausage, and salami. Our personal favorite is the Jupiter Pie, layered with olive oil, garlic, sundried tomatoes, feta cheese, fresh tomatoes, and melty mozzarella.

The dining room at Fuego’s is now open— subject to change, of course. They offer delivery and a number of non-pizza items too, like fresh housemade pasta, salads, and sandwiches, too.

Best Burger in Park City: Draft’s Burger Bar

3000 Canyon Resorts Drive— 435. 655. 2270

Located inside the Westgate Resort, Draft’s Burger Bar has a scrumptious menu— including some of the best burgers you’ll ever have— and a to-die-for mountain view in their dining room.

Where to begin? There are so many mouthwatering choices, you might want to come back a few times to sample them all. We are partial to the I Love Garlic burger because— well, we love garlic. Grilled to medium perfection and piled high with caramelized onions, garlic aioli, sauteed mushrooms, and gooey Swiss cheese— it’s garlicky burger perfection. Fans of all things spicy will love the Ghost Burger, complete with fiery ghost pepper sauce and ghost pepper jack cheese.

Draft’s Burger Bar also has over fifty beers on tap, homemade milkshakes, and an extensive craft cocktail menu.

Park City Pro Tip: Take a quick peek inside some of our Westgate Resort condos. Here, you can immerse yourself in luxury in the heart of Canyons Ski Resort. Experience the convenience of resort living and the privacy and peace of a mountain chalet. Plus, easy access to Draft’s Burger Bar!

Best Sunday Brunch in Park City: Glitretend

7700 Stein Way— 435. 645. 6455

With an elegant dining room and stunning views of Deer Valley Resort, you’ll want to slow down and savor brunch at this exquisite Park City restaurant.

With specialty items like Bananas & Cardamom French Toast and Lingonberry & Blackberry pancakes, your whole family will flip out over this lavish and unforgettable spread. Complete with an omelet station and freshly sliced Prime Rib, the Glitretend does brunch like nowhere else in Park City.

They also offer a complete breakfast, lunch, and dinner menu. Reservations are recommended.

A Quick Guide to Skiing in Park City

If there’s one thing we know in Park City— it’s skiing. With over 10,000 skiable acres, the largest ski resort in the country (Park City Mountain), and runs for every experience and age level, there’s something ski-worthy for everyone in Park City.

Winter sports have always been a naturally socially distant activity, so this year it’s the perfect time to explore the epic powder. Read on for a quick guide on the best skiing and snowboarding in Park City for the 2020/2021 winter season.

Park City Mountain

For snowboarders, fewer resorts can compare to Park City Mountain. Filled to the brim with all sorts of terrain pipes and half-pipes, you’ll find a massive array of freestyle terrain here. And if you’re looking for more classic ski runs, Park City Mountain has some of the best runs and moguls in the world. The sheer variety of ski runs is limitless— so everyone from newbies to experts will be pleased.

Precautions have been taken this year to ensure safety during the pandemic, so Park City Mountain is requiring reservations. Check out their website for more information on reserving your spot.

Deer Valley Resort

Deer Valley prides itself on its exceptional customer service— and you’ll notice it everywhere. From the helpful attendants and ski valets at the lifts to the barista brewing your pre-ski coffee, Deer Valley is completely delightful. With a larger percentage of beginner terrain than the other resorts, those new to skiing and snowboarding will feel right at home. But experts rest assured— there are challenging black diamond runs here, too.

Even before the pandemic, Deer Valley has limited the number of passes they sell to ensure that the slopes don’t get too crowded. Visit their website to purchase your pass.

Canyons Village

This family-friendly and accomodating ski resort is the first base area you come to when you arrive in Park City from Salt Lake City airport. Plenty of ski schools and lots of shops in the Canyon Village courtyard make this your one-stop-shop for all you need to hit the slopes— with confidence and style. There’s also the Orange Bubble Express— a bubbled (and heated!) chairlift that you have to experience for yourself. You’ll also want to grab a bit to eat at The Farm, the award-winning restaurant in Canyons Village that only serves the freshest farm-to-table fare.

Visit their website to learn about their lift pass policy or to make reservations.

There’s a reason that the 2002 Olympic Games were held here— the powdery perfection and assortment of ski runs is unmatched. Find your ideal Park City rental home at PC Moose Management, and we can help you with lift tickets and reservations, too. A condominium like Ski Team 4 has space for six people, a crackling wood-burning fireplace, and the Park City Mountain Resort is only a couple of blocks away. Black Rock Ridge 1175 is spacious and elegant, offers two private master suites, and has views of the Deer Valley ski runs.

While you’re here, you may want to explore other ski resorts that are close by. Cottonwoods Canyon is about a 45-minute drive from Park City and well worth the trip. Snowbird, Alta, Brighton, and Solitude all include runs for beginners to experts and everything in between, plus fun shopping, delicious dining, and nightlife too. Learn a bit more about these alternative ski resorts here, and check out our homes in Cottonwood Heights here.

Give us a call today, and start planning your next winter getaway to the powdery ski paradise of Park City.

Spend the Holiday Season in Park City

Are social distancing and pandemic precautions putting a damper on your holiday spirits? There’s no doubt that this holiday season will be a bit different than in years past. This year, why not turn tradition on its head too, and head to Park City for the holiday season?

There are few places more magical or filled with winter wonderland delights— even now. So pack up your most festive facemasks, enjoy our world-class ski slopes and winter activities, and check out some of these exciting holiday events.

Stroll with Santa through the Snow Globes

Historic downtown Park City is always a can’t-miss activity— especially around the holidays. Charming and festive, you’ll love strolling through the shops and cafes. From November 28, 2020, to January 3, 2021, nine interactive and life-sized snow globes will be placed around the city streets, delighting visitors and children of all ages.

Then, from 2-6 PM every day from November 28 to December 12, Santa Clause and his elves will stroll the city streets to spread Christmas cheer, and maybe finalize his naughty and nice list. Visitors to the Snow Globe Stroll and those wanting to chat with Santa Clause are encouraged to wear face masks and practice pro-active social distancing.

Hop on a Park City Sleigh Ride

Nothing captures the cozy magic of the Christmas season quite like a horse-drawn carriage ride through the snow. Classic and charming, the sleighs are pulled down Willow Draw by friendly horses decked out in their holiday finest.

You’re encouraged to dress warmly— and wear a mask— for the 25-minute ride, but comfy blankets are provided, too. Enjoy the enchanting winter wonderland sites and the lovely sounds of the sleighbells. It’s a magical experience your family will never forget.

Become a Hot Chocolate Connoisseur

Hot cocoa and the holidays go hand in hand. This holiday season, make it your family’s mission to find your favorite hot cocoa in Park City.

We recommend you start out at Atticus Coffee and Tea— a coffeehouse and old-fashioned bookstore on Main Street. The red velvet hot chocolate is a local favorite, and they also have a wide selection of teas, smoothies, and light bites.

Find Your Home-Away-From-Home

For the true Park City holiday experience, rent a comfy home from Moose Management and let us make your Christmas wishes come true. From cozy condos for two to sprawling homes for everyone in your family, we have the perfect spot to spend Christmas 2020.

Take a peek inside Carriage House 331, a comfy and affordable studio right downtown, with easy access to Mina Street and PC Ski Resort.

Working and Long-Distance Learning

Last month, we talked about how working from home can now mean working from anywhere, including Park City! This month, we’re going to cover the great advantages of working and long-distance learning from a vacation rental!

working and long-distance learningThere’s no doubt in anyone’s mind that Covid-19 has changed the way we all live, and probably will for a long time to come. While we in no way mean to minimize the hardships that many people have been through, we also want to talk about the ways in which our lives have expanded.

As many schools and employers have embraced the work-from-home paradigm, the fabric of our lives is changing, in ways we could never have foreseen even a scant year ago.

While many of us have chosen our place of residence based on career commitments or a good school district for our children, those physical tethers are disintegrating. Many of us are in a kind of awakening that we actually have a lot more freedom than we used to.

With that in mind, we want to underscore some of the really important reasons you should consider working and learning long-distance from a vacation rental, particularly one in Park City.

You Already Know You Love It

You’ve been coming here season after season, year after year. You’ve got your favorite trails, your favorite shops, your favorite restaurants. working and long-distance learning

While Park City may look a lot different than “home”, it’s known to you. It’s a place where you’re comfortable, you already know your way around and you already know your heart speeds up just a little bit every time you arrive.

Who wouldn’t want to work and learn long-distance from a spot you already love?

Try Out a Different Lifestyle

Tell the truth, you’ve dreamed of being a ski bum on at least one occasion, right? That’s okay, who hasn’t? While it’s probably not an option to spend every day on the slopes anymore, it is definitely possible to enjoy the lifestyle a mountain town offers. Things like close proximity to nature, a healthy outdoors lifestyle and yes, the slopes right there when time allows are all alluring features of life in the mountains.

Change is Good for the Soul

working and long-distance learningIt’s a great big world out there. Don’t let life pass by without seeing as much of it as you can. Working and long-distance learning from a vacation rental in Park City will teach you things you didn’t know about yourself and your resilience, your curiosity about life, and your environment.

Open Spaces

We enjoy lots of safe, open space here. Get outside and enjoy it!! Whether your passion is fishing, swimming, water sports, hiking, mountain biking, skiing or snowboarding it’s all here for you in Park City! And all at an appropriate social distance.

Look Towards Relocation

If you’ve ever considered the big move of relocation, working and long-distance learning from a vacation rental in Park City will give you the best possible idea of how you would like our environs as your permanent home base.working and long-distance learning

Talk to our staff about the different areas of Park City and their unique features. We’d love to help!

Last, but by no means least, wouldn’t you rather wake up to the sight of our magnificent mountains than your neighbor’s driveway? Just sayin’…

We hope to see you soon!
