Great Date Night Ideas in Park City

Everyone knows that Park City is perfect for family-friendly vacations, with lots of epic hiking trails and mountain biking paths to explore. But with our spectacular mountain views, charming downtown, and twinkle lights galore, Park City is also an ideal spot for a romantic date night with your significant other.

Here are a few of our favorite spots to take that special someone for an enchanting evening.

Purple Sage

434 Main Street

Since 2003, this unique western-themed restaurant has been serving extraordinary American cuisine in the Rocky Mountain Bell telephone building in the middle of historic Main Street.

Their incredibly eclectic menu is highly seasonal, and for summer 2022, here are a few things we are absolutely loving. First, we always start with the famous Purple Sage Charcuterie Board which features a selection of decadent cheeses, smoked meats, and sausages. Then, we’ll try the gorgeous Grilled Salmon or savory Butternut Squash Ravioli. Their wine and spirits menu is seasonal as well, with plenty to pick from to complement any meal. Yum!

Egyptian Theater

328 Main Street

With live events that range from rock concerts to live comedy shows to musical theater productions, there’s something for everyone at the Egyptian Theater on Main Street in downtown Park City. This is also the perfect spot to saunter to after dinner for the classic “dinner and a show” date night combo.

Make sure to visit their website and find out which shows are playing when you’re in town, and buy your tickets well in advance.

Tupelo

1500 Kearns Boulevard

Described as a “globally inspired fine dining restaurant that honors artisanal local ingredients,” Tupelo is a truly inspired spot for a Park City date night. Not only is the food terrific, but the interior ambiance is also chic and endlessly stylish. They have recently moved their location from Main Street to Kearns Boulevard, so this date night destination is a bit off the beaten path.

For starters, we loved the Shrimp Cocktail Puttanesca with olives, peppers, shallots, and salt and benne seed crackers for dipping. Our favorite entree (so far) is the “Cacio e Pepe” that’s made with Gemelli pasta, heirloom tomatoes, local squash, and smoked parmesan. Pair anything with a sumptuous wine from their incredibly diverse wine list. Cheers!

Magnificent Mountain Biking in Park City

World-class ski destinations like Park City are also known to be epic mountain biking meccas during the warmer months. Once the snow melts and the trails clear out, there are miles and miles of gorgeous paths winding through the untouched mountain forest.

Boasting plenty of space so there are little to no crowds, plus lots of opportunities to pull off for a lunch break into a peaceful spot that’s filled with wildflowers and birdsong, our premier mountain biking trails are nothing short of magnificent.

Here are three of our all-time favorites.

Armstrong & Pinecone Ridge Trails

This beautiful ride begins at the Silver Star chair lift area on Park City Mountain. We recommend driving or taking the bus to the lift area. Then from there, you can climb the Armstrong trail for a little over two miles. At the top of the trail, you’ll take a left to connect to the Pinecone Ridge trail and climb some more— for a little over 4 miles. Once you reach the top, you’ll be at 9,800 feet! Here, we recommend enjoying a nice break and taking in the beauty of the magnificent views.

With nearly six miles of steady climbing, this path is not for beginners— but it sure is worth the effort!

Kamas Valley

If you’re up for a short drive, the Kamas Valley mountain biking is extraordinary— and great for beginners. About a 20-minute drive from Park City, this lovely valley is filled with easy-to-moderate trails that have amazing ridge views. The trailhead is just north of High Star Ranch, and you can also stop here on your way out for a delicious lunch or snack.

With over 20 miles of flowing trails that are filled with flowers and wildlife, this is a perfect spot to make a day of mountain biking.

An Easy Family Loop

Just across the street from the famous McPolin Barn & Farm is a paved trail that turns into gravel and follows a serene mountain stream. Along the way, you’ll pass by a fun playground with restrooms, a dog park, a wood bridge, a classic barn, and even a charming shopping center with a Cold Stone Creamery.

With many places to stop and explore, this is an ideal path to take the whole family and explore the area.

July 4th and Pioneer Day in Park City

It’s no secret that here in Park City, we’re experienced professionals when it comes to wintertime fun. Skiing, snowboarding, ice skating, snowshoeing— you name it and chances are, we do it.

But you know what else we’re really good at too? Summertime adventure.

When the sun is shining and the temperatures are high, our gorgeous mountain ridges and epic hiking trails really heat up. But there’s so much more to do than simply hiking or biking around. Our historic canyon town also comes alive with tons of local events and heritage festivities.

Here are a couple of things we’re looking forward to this summer.

July 4th 5K Fun Run

This year, this fantastic Park City tradition will be larger than ever— boasting over 1,000 participants of all ages and abilities. Held from 8 AM to 10 AM on July 4, 2022, this fun summer holiday event has a rich historic tradition dating back to the early 1980s and also raises money for local charities as well.

You can register for the race here, and each participant receives a commemorative t-shirt.

Independence Day Festivities

From fireworks to festivals to parades down historic Main Street, the Park City experts at our Moose Management offices can help you plan an amazing 4th of July holiday for your whole family. We also have lots of rental homes to choose from that can place you front and center to all of the fun and excitement that surrounds this popular summer holiday.

Give us a call or drop us a line and let’s start planning today.

Pioneer Day

An uber-popular holiday in Utah that often defines the height of summertime fun, Pioneer Day is held every year at the end of July and celebrates the arrival of the Mormon community, led by Brigham Young, into the area.

This year the Pioneer Day holiday falls on Sunday, July 24, 2022, with banks and Utah state offices often closed on the Monday after the holiday. Throughout that weekend, there are often parades and fireworks to highlight the day.

Have a Sensational Park City Summer

Our Park City winters are kinda famous— and rightfully so. Our mountain peaks and ski slopes are downright legendary, and even played host to the Winter Olympics not too long ago! So we understand if “winter” and “Park City” are somewhat synonymous in your head. We get it.

But we also want to take a moment to show you some of the truly spectacular things to do in Park City in the summertime. When the snow melts and the wildflowers start to bloom, our mountain city literally comes alive. And since we’re more popular in winter, the crowds sort of melt with the snow and disappear too.

Come with us while we let you in on a few of our favorite things to do and places to stay in Park City for the summer season of 2022.

Fabulous Hiking and Mountain Biking Trails

Once the temps warm-up, it’s time to slip out of your skis and into a pair of hiking boots. Our rugged mountain terrain has some of the most beautiful hiking trails in the world.Hiking in Park City Utah

The Jennis Trail is a newer trail that begins at the Park City Mountain Resort and ascends about 1,400 feet up to give you some truly spectacular views. The trail is about 5 miles one way. And since it’s sort of new it’s also wide and flat and well-maintained. Bring a sack lunch and make a day of it!

Fantastic Fly Fishing

Home to two of the “fishiest” rivers in the Rocky Mountains, the Weber River and the Provo River, Park City has lots of opportunities for you to try your hand at catching “the big one” for dinner. Then, you can take your delicious catch home to your Moose Management vacation rental home and fire it up on the grill.

Park City Fly Fishing Guides is one of our favorite places to schedule a day of fly fishing while you’re in town.

Heavenly Horseback Riding

Horseback Riding in Park CityIt’s hard to improve upon the magnificent vistas that Park City offers around every turn, but somehow seeing those views from horseback just makes them that much more special.

One of our favorite stables is called Wind In Your Hair Riding— honestly, how can you beat that name? They have guided trail tours for experienced riders and lessons for beginners. Giddyup!

Stay and Play in Park City

If you’re searching for the ideal place to call home for your summertime adventure in Park City— we recommend Prospector Condos. Our 3 Favorite Hiking Trails in Park City

With the month of April on the horizon, we can’t help but begin daydreaming about spring and summer in Park City. Although we are still experiencing some chilly temps and winter weather, we also know that these days are numbered, and that pretty soon we’ll be packing up our cold-weather gear and getting ready to soak up the sunshine.

Every year around this time, we also start imagining all the epic hikes and fun mountain biking trips we’re going to take once the weather turns. So we thought it was the perfect time to share our favorite Park City hiking trails with you.

So lace up your hiking shoes and away we go!

The Lofty Lakes Loop

We love a good loop trail— meaning you don’t have to double back the same way you came and can enjoy new views around every turn. The Lofty Lakes Loop has some truly gorgeous ridge and lake views, as well as huge meadows filled with vibrant wildflowers in the late summer. This particular trail does not allow mountain biking, so you can either hike the 4.4 miles or go for a run. You can even bring your furry family member too since this trail is dog friendly. This trail is not super-steep either, making it perfect for a day trip.

The Blood Lakes Trail

Although it has a kind of scary name, this hiking trail is one of our absolute faves. Blood Lakes is a pristine alpine lake that is ideal for swimming in the warmer months. The Blood Lakes trailhead is about a 15-minute drive from downtown Park City, and the trail itself takes you through lovely, peaceful meadows with gorgeous mountain views. Blood Lakes is also dog-friendly, but dogs are required to be on a leash at all times. This trail also has a smidge steeper incline than Lofty lakes, but it flattens out as you get closer to the lake. The entire distance of Blood Lakes is just under three miles for a round trip.

The Armstrong Trail

If you’re a fan of mountain biking, you’ll want to take this trail for a spin. This trail is steeper than the other two, but there are plenty of scenic lookout spots to take a break if you get tired. The total loop distance for this trail is a little over three miles, and once you hit the halfway point and start heading back downhill, you’ll enjoy a lovely view of downtown Park City. Dogs are also welcome here as well and should be kept on a leash because of all the mountain biking traffic.

Some Trail Tips

Remember to make sure that your phone is completely charged before heading out, and always tell someone where you will be and what trail you plan on taking. You’ll also want to pack some just-in-case rain gear and plenty of snacks and water— for your dog too if he’s coming along. And practice Leave No Trace— meaning that any trash or supplies that go on the trail with you also come home with you too.
